Every smile begins with a blueprint.
Before any treatment, Dr. Dan studies the structure: the tooth, the bite, the face around it.
Dr. Dan Shaer designs every smile like a building: measured, proportioned and handcrafted in porcelain until it looks like it was always yours.
Every smile we create begins as a blueprint. Measured against your face, proportioned by the golden ratio, previewed in three dimensions, then handcrafted in porcelain so that people notice you, not your dentistry.
Nothing becomes permanent
until you have seen it.
Before any treatment, Dr. Dan studies the structure: the tooth, the bite, the face around it.
Every treatment is drawn from the same blueprint, and every one passes through you.
Your goals, photographs, digital scans and a full assessment of health and function. Your midline, lip line and smile arc are mapped before a single tooth is considered.
Your smile is engineered against your facial proportions with Digital Smile Design: tooth width, length and edge position, all set against your face.
See your result in 3D and as a trial smile over your own teeth. Refine the details together, then approve with confidence.
Minimally invasive preparation and porcelain layered by hand, guided by the blueprint you approved.
Final placement and bite refinement, with aftercare that protects your smile, so it looks like it was always yours.

“Technology allows us to predict not only how a smile will look, but how it will function over time.”
Dr. Dan ShaerDr. Dan Shaer approaches every case as a structure to be designed, studying symmetry, proportion and alignment before treatment begins.
Trained in the United States and Europe, he pairs advanced digital technology with a minimally invasive, biomimetic philosophy: keep as much natural tooth as possible, and create results so refined they simply look like you.

Yes. After the digital design, a trial smile is placed over your own teeth so you can see it in the mirror, talk it through with Dr. Dan and adjust it before anything is permanent.
Natural results come from proportion, shade and translucency. Each veneer is shaped to your face and matched to your skin and eyes, with the subtle variation real teeth have.

Dr. Dan Shaer, DDS is a Beverly Hills cosmetic and implant dentist known as The Smile Architect: USC 1997, trained in the U.S. and Europe, planning every smile like a building.
Dr. Dan Shaer, DDS · The JournalVeneers are thin porcelain or composite shells that brighten, reshape and balance a smile. The most common question we hear is whether they damage natural teeth.
When designed and placed by a skilled cosmetic dentist, veneers are not harmful. They can even protect teeth with worn enamel, chips or small cracks.
A very thin layer of enamel, usually under one millimetre, is reshaped so veneers sit flush. Enamel does not grow back, so this step is permanent and prepared teeth will always need a covering. That is why preparation should be as conservative as the design allows.
With brushing, flossing and regular check-ups, veneers last for years. Avoid nail-biting and using your teeth as tools. Decay and gum inflammation can still develop around veneers without good care.
Poorly planned veneers can cause bite problems, gum irritation or unnecessary enamel removal. An experienced dentist designs around your bite and face and keeps preparation minimal. Learn how we approach porcelain veneers in Beverly Hills.

Every smile Dr. Dan writes about starts with a consultation.
Dr. Dan Shaer, DDS · The JournalMany people assume a little blood when brushing means they brushed too hard. Healthy gums do not bleed, and bleeding usually points to an underlying problem.
Bleeding is most often caused by inflammation from plaque and bacteria along the gum line. This early stage, gingivitis, is the mouth's check-engine light. Left untreated it can progress to periodontitis, which can cause gum recession, bone loss and tooth loss.
Gums are rich in blood vessels, so inflammation and bacteria can reach the bloodstream. Research has linked gum disease with heart disease, diabetes, respiratory illness and pregnancy complications.
Stress, smoking or vaping, hormonal changes, some medications, poor nutrition and unmanaged blood sugar all affect gum health. You can brush diligently and still bleed if inflammation is present.
Caught early, bleeding gums are often reversible. Healthy gums also come first in any restorative or cosmetic plan.

Dr. Dan Shaer, DDS · The JournalSleep apnea is often dismissed as loud snoring, or associated only with CPAP machines. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a serious medical condition that affects millions of people.
OSA happens when the airway is partly or fully blocked during sleep, causing repeated pauses in breathing. Signs include chronic snoring, morning headaches, a dry mouth on waking and unrefreshing sleep. Untreated OSA is linked to high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, memory problems and fatigue-related accidents.
CPAP remains the standard treatment for moderate to severe OSA. For people with mild to moderate OSA, or those who cannot tolerate CPAP, a custom oral appliance can be an effective option. Patients like that the devices are compact, quiet, portable and easy to care for.
Not everyone is a candidate. Diagnosis requires a sleep study and collaboration between your physician and a dentist trained in dental sleep medicine.
Because OSA affects the heart, brain and metabolism, treating it well is a whole-body health decision. Sometimes the most powerful health solutions are the ones you sleep through.

For many people the dental chair feels like a loss of control, often because of discomfort or a difficult past experience. Avoiding the dentist usually leads to bigger problems later, which makes the anxiety harder to break.
IV sedation can allow more treatment in a single visit, reducing the number of appointments. Many patients remember little of the procedure, which eases anxiety about future visits.
Guided breathing, calming music, aromatherapy, warm lighting and unhurried pacing make a real difference. Above all, clear communication helps you feel in control. If anxiety has kept you away, tell us and we will plan around it.

Dr. Dan Shaer, DDS · The JournalAdult teeth do shift over time, a process called dental drift. Like grey hair or fine lines, it is a natural change that deserves more attention than it gets.
You do not automatically need braces again. Options include clear aligners for mild to moderate realignment, custom retainers to hold your result, night guards if grinding is a factor, and routine check-ups to catch changes early.
Recognising that teeth change is the first step to protecting the smile you love.

Every smile Dr. Dan writes about starts with a consultation.
Dr. Dan Shaer earned his dental degree from USC in 1997 and built a private practice in Beverly Hills focused on minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry and advanced materials such as ultra-thin porcelain veneers. His guiding idea is invisible perfection: dentistry so well integrated that people notice you, not your teeth.
Social media, video calls and global travel have made the smile part of personal identity. A confident smile affects first impressions, career opportunities and wellbeing, and Dr. Shaer sees that demand from Los Angeles to Dubai and across Europe.
His patients include actors, founders and professionals who expect precision and artistry. That environment drives constant refinement of technique and early adoption of new technology, always in service of natural results.
Every case combines Digital Smile Design, 3D scanning, minimally invasive technique and an artist's eye. The goal is a refreshed, natural look, never an 'overdone' one. International patients from Europe, the Middle East and Asia choose the studio for that precision and discretion.
Digital workflows allow smiles to be designed, previewed and placed with high accuracy, while biocompatible ceramics preserve more natural tooth. Dr. Shaer expects cosmetic dentistry to become even more personal, less invasive and longer lasting.
◆
Every smile Dr. Dan writes about starts with a consultation.
Dr. Dan Shaer, DDS · The JournalCosmetic dentistry in Beverly Hills has long been associated with quick transformations. Dr. Dan Shaer takes a different view: the most beautiful smile is the one that still looks natural, and still works, ten years from now.
Before recommending veneers, implants or any cosmetic work, Dr. Shaer evaluates the whole mouth: how the bite functions, how the teeth meet, and the signs of grinding and wear. These forces decide how long any restoration will last, so they are planned for from day one.
Teeth shift, enamel wears and habits such as clenching slowly reshape a smile. A plan that ignores these changes is temporary. Each treatment at Smile Boutique Beverly Hills balances aesthetics, function and durability, with careful attention to the order in which care is delivered.
Advanced training in implantology and reconstruction lets Dr. Shaer take on demanding work: complex implant placement, bone and tissue regeneration and the rebuilding of failed previous dentistry. In full mouth rehabilitation, grinding, bite imbalance and wear can destabilise older work, so the new design anticipates those forces rather than reacting to them.
Digital planning and 3D imaging make results more predictable, but the real difference is clinical judgement. Patients are shown the structural reasoning behind every step, so they understand not just what will be done but why.
The result is cosmetic dentistry engineered to endure: refined, natural and stable.

Dr. Dan Shaer, DDS · The JournalA smile is part of every conversation, photograph and important moment. That is why exceptional dentistry is less an expense than an investment in health, confidence and quality of life.
Your smile shapes first impressions, how comfortably you speak and how you appear to age. Great dentistry goes far beyond straight, white teeth: it restores harmony, function and longevity.
Before discussing veneers or implants, we evaluate your bite, jaw function, facial proportions, oral health and long-term goals.
3D imaging, digital smile design, precise planning and an in-house dental laboratory allow highly accurate, customised restorations. High-quality ceramics mimic the strength, texture and translucency of natural enamel.
Aesthetics, facial balance, implant dentistry and bite function all demand expertise. The most rewarding part of the work is seeing patients smile freely after years of hiding it, and watching how differently they engage with the world.

Every smile Dr. Dan writes about starts with a consultation.
Dr. Dan Shaer, DDS · The JournalLaser dentistry uses focused light energy to treat soft and hard tissues in the mouth. Many procedures become quicker, more precise and surprisingly comfortable.
Lasers can reduce the need for anaesthetic, minimise bleeding and shorten recovery. Gum contouring, some cavity treatment and periodontal therapy are common examples.
Less invasive treatment means many patients return to work, plans or exercise the same day, without lingering numbness or soreness.
Lasers let dentists sculpt gum lines and remove excess tissue with high accuracy, which is why they are increasingly part of cosmetic dentistry and smile design.
Not every procedure can be done with a laser. They enhance traditional care rather than replace it, with the same goal: a healthy, confident smile, delivered more comfortably.

Dr. Dan Shaer, DDS · The JournalTechnology, digital planning and AI are reshaping aesthetic dentistry. Precision alone no longer sets a practice apart. The new goal is results that are individual, biologically considered and built to last.
Dr. Dan Shaer, who practises cosmetic and implant dentistry at Smile Boutique Beverly Hills, earned the name The Smile Architect by refusing to design teeth in isolation. He studies proportion, movement, lip dynamics, expression, function and character, then decides how a smile should sit within that framework.
Digital tools improve accuracy across veneers, implants, restorative care and full transformations. Final decisions still rest on clinical experience, aesthetic judgement and a real understanding of the patient.
Every plan considers how the smile will function, support oral health and age, weighing preservation and stability alongside proportion, texture and translucency.
The aim is dentistry so well integrated that it feels personal rather than manufactured: a result that expresses identity, serves function and endures.

Every smile Dr. Dan writes about starts with a consultation.
Dr. Dan Shaer, DDS · The JournalDramatic makeovers make great photos, but how long do they last? For Dr. Dan Shaer, longevity is the starting point of every plan. Veneers, whitening and other cosmetic treatments work best when the groundwork is laid first.
Every patient receives a full assessment of bite alignment, jaw position, functional balance and long-term wear. Teeth are constantly changing: they shift, wear and respond to pressure. A smile designed without accounting for that is only temporary.
3D imaging, Digital Smile Design and treatment simulations project how a smile will behave over the years and help prevent future problems. When teeth are compromised or misaligned, those structural issues are often corrected first, with alignment, strengthening weakened teeth or full mouth rehabilitation.
Aesthetics, biomechanics and prevention are now closely linked. Success is measured by how naturally a smile functions and how well it ages, not only by how it looks on the day treatment ends.
A well-designed smile should age gracefully while staying comfortable, balanced and strong.

Dr. Dan Shaer, DDS · The JournalPeople form impressions within seconds. A genuine smile signals warmth, confidence and trustworthiness, while a hesitant one can read as anxiety. In professional settings, people who smile more are often seen as more competent and approachable.
Healthy gums and well-aligned teeth reflect good overall health. Gum disease has been linked to heart health and inflammation, which is why regular cleanings matter. Receding gums or shifting teeth can point to stress, grinding or ageing, and can affect your bite and facial balance.
Smiling does not just reflect good feelings, it can create them, releasing endorphins and serotonin. Authentic smiles ease tension and make moments memorable.
